Another long night for the Bookhout-LeNarz camp as we prepare for the official ASG debate tomorrow night, to be held at 7:30pm in the Connections Lounge of the Arkansas Union. Tonight, we've gone over a wide range of topics that we think might be brought up tomorrow, ranging from sustainability and campus safety, to the more controversial topics of the tobacco policy, the SAFER referendum, and the role of the ASG executives in dealing with the administration.
It's not really common knowledge how much effort goes into running an ASG campaign, and how much the candidates sacrifice to make an effort to reach as many students as possible. The number of yawns in this room should suffice to give some idea of the amount of foregone sleep each of the candidates has donated to the campaign. Mattie and Andrew are now intensively going over the platform and analyzing broad policy initiatives, supplementary programming, and the minute details of implementing each idea we're submitting to the voters' approval.
U.S. Secretary of State John Foster Dulles said, "A man's accomplishments in life are the cumulative effect of his attention to detail," and getting ready for any debate reinforces this sentiment.
And so the preparation continues...
